It had some good information and lots of that patented ChloŽ cheerfulness.

Sadly, Kate didn't win. Sad

But they invented a new category for her ("Best Self-Promotion"), so she definitely got their attention.
Smiley

She's great on social media and really creative at getting her name out there, so I'm not surprised she's garnered some recognition for her work.

Thank you to everyone who voted, helped spread the word, or even showed Kate some support. It's all very much appreciated.

I know there's some very exciting times ahead for Kate and I'm proud to be a part of her adventure.

I finally got around to listening to the "Celtic Angels" album (2008, Various Artists) on Spotify.

https://open.spotify.com/album/3gz2zU3hHiTBu8LkVvQzfL

It's a compilation of songs from various artists, including some of our lovely former Celtic Woman ladies (in bold):

Danny Boy (Aoife)
The Last Rose of Summer (Chloe)
Garden of Graves (RUA)
You Brought Me Up (Meav)
Sweetest Summer Rain (Aine Furey)
Come Carry Me (Ann Myler)
Lass of Glanshee (Altan)
Hand in Your Hand (Bohinta)
Caledonia (Aoife)
Black Is the Color (RUA)
My Irish Molly-O (De Danann)
She Moved Thru the Fair (RUA)
Maggie (Aoife)
Walking In the Air (Chloe)
Wedding Song (Bohinta)
Bridge over Troubled Water (RUA)
Newry Boat Song (Meav)
A Haunting Song (Ann Myler)
My Love Won't Bring Me Roses (Aine Furey)
Fare Thee Well (Aoife)
Ave Maria (Chloe)
Hallelujah (RUA)
Morning in Bearra (Meav)
Sleep and Dream (Aine Furey)
The Water Is Wide (Chloe)
Both Sides Now (Aoife)
Ride On (RUA)
The Wicked Sister (Meav)
Then You'll Remember Me (De Danann)
Neidin (Aoife)
Mable Halls (Aine Furey)

Of the tracks from our Celtic Woman ladies, my personal favourites are:
- The Last Rose of Summer (Chloe)
- The Water Is Wide (Chloe)

Those are two of my all-time favourite ChloŽ solo songs. The Water Is Wide is so good it's probably in my top 10 favourite songs.

Former Celtic Woman choir member Ann Myler's "Come Carry Me" is a satisfying pop song.

Of the non-Celtic-Woman songs on the CD, I found they were hit and miss. There were a few songs that I didn't necessarily dislike, but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to again.

RUA had a few good ones, including:
- Garden of Graves
- Bridge over Troubled Water (had a pretty spectacular buildup to the end)
- Ride On (an intriguing arrangement)
- Hallelujah

Of the non-Celtic Woman performers, I think Aoife impressed me the most. The songs in this compilation were from her third album, The Turning of the Tide (2003). My favourites of hers were:
- Neidin
- Danny Boy
- Caledonia
- Maggie

Aoife has a VERY pretty voice. It has a soothing quality. Personally, I found her fluttery vibrato quite enchanting. The arrangements for her songs were also pleasant: they reminded me of the Jason Tonioli's piano arrangements for Favorite Hymns (featuring CaraNua).

Overall, I thought the album was pretty good.

Worth a listen if you have some time.

Kate has a new YouTube URL:
https://www.youtube.com/katesteinway

It's the same channel and the old links should still take you to her channel, but the new one should be easier for people to find and remember.
