Got home from my first flight ever in the sky around midnight Tuesday safe and sound, still in awe about it. First let me make sure to let everyone know, I was NOT afraid to fly, I just needed a good reason to. What better reason to see the greatest group on earth! The Celtic Woman song the fits my flight best for me is “Sailing”. Each time I took off from the airport I quietly sang “I AM FLYING, I AM FLYING LIKE A BIRD ACROSS THE SKY. Thank you girls!!! There was more that I sang, but I am sure by now each of us knows it by heart. For the fear I had (NEVER HAD!!!) disappeared at that moment. How amazing these girls really are!!!
Ok guys now on with the review. Found out from the cab driver that The Smith Center has only been open for a short period of time and they are expanding to make it a much larger venue. Makes me wonder what it will be like next time. Thanks first to Roy for selling a second row seat for the matinee. The only problem was one row back Chloe sat for a moment during Teir. That’s ok Roy you tried your best! This was my first matinee concert and I could not wait for it to begin.
The highlights for the matinee and the evening show began as it should Mairead was on top of the stairs with heavens light above her, playing that beautiful violin that began the song “Awakening”. Next was Lisa singing the song she now owns called Dulaman. Chloe singing Nocturne was beautiful as usually. SO powerful a voice she has! Mairead with Foxhunter was beautiful. How many spins did she have guys? It was defiantly more than average. Sailing, this song will forever be remembered, because like sooooo many songs sung by Celtic Woman, this was one for every one. A WOMAN’s HEART this is a beautiful song, one that has been very special to me since I first heard it at the filming. At the end Chloe shows all of us the strength of her voice by singing a WOMAN’S HEART WOULD NOOOOOOOOO! Each time I hear this it just have to say O MY I am so glad I am here. Follow on was Susan’s first of two solos. I feel she is getting more and more comfortable being a Celtic Woman. Such a strong voice she has! Teir Abhaile Riu, I think this is everone new favorite song!!! I did not see Lisa find a sailor at either show, but I did witness Chloe sitting directly behind me to VERY surprised gentlemen at the matinee show. The evening show another gentleman was taken by surprise by Chloe right across from where she was at the matinee. Granuaile’s Dance probably is my favorite song that Mairead does. Such energy you feel from it, it cannot be described. Danny Boy is always one that I agreed with what Chloe said. A Celtic Woman show would not be complete with out it. For the next song MO GHILE MEAR I promise one day I will perfect this dance and presented to the world!!!
Amazing Grace began Act II is one that would not be complete without Anthony and his bag pipes. My favorite by Lisa is A SPACEMAN CAME TRAVELING. Such an amazing song!!! The emotionally song Walking the Night, reminds me of someone you lost that was very special to you. The World Falls Away is one of happiness that can only be sung by these wonderful girls! The Water is Wide is a wonderful that Susan sings beautifully. This is where Ray Fean REALLY shows his talent with the Bodhran. He begins slowly and as he plays fastest asks everyone how we are doing! I love this addition to the show! Next Chloe teaches us a wonderful song called “Green Grow the Rushes” It only takes 4 or 5 times for us to get it and Lisa lets us know we now have it! I Dreamed a Dream is an amazing that I am so glad Celtic Woman sings. A Circle of Life is a “SNAPPY” number that I love. When you say Ave Maria, Chloe Agnew follows. This is HER song, that cannot be sung by no else. This is such a beautiful song that for many of us brings to tears to our eyes (including my self). For the evening show the tears never really stop! For You’ll Never Walk Alone I saw sometime that I had not seen in sometime, I saw Chloe tear up after this song, just as she did during the filming. We all realized that this show was drawing to a close, but we wouldn’t miss it for the world! Next was Mairead with the MNA HA HEIRANN or Woman of Ireland. This is a very beautifully song that started slow and built with Mairead and Craig as cloggier. The Parting Glass, was very emotional for all of us, because it would not only end the show, but end it for some time for many of us. I witnessed many people weeping openly (especially me) during this, but again guys I would have missed it for this world. The girls were as emotionally (if not more than us). I would have not missed this for anything.
I did not have a ticket to the Meet and Greet, so I decided to go outside and wait for the others. As I was walking out a gentleman that some of us talked to earlier about being groupies told me “I now understand”. How wonderful these girls are he said! We had decided to go to a place called “The Orleans”, they have a TGIF there and BTW if you like Peanut Pie there’s are the best in the world! We only three cars and several of them could only seat to. Patricia and Rachel were SOOOO nice to invite me, until I discovered it was an Eclipse. I happen to be an owner of an Eclipse I know they have no back seat. So guess where I went?
? I was ok it though. I was among friends and I knew that I would not be back there long. As we traveled I had the image of me being a large dog in the back of a convertible. When we FINALLY found a parking spot, we all gather together to talk about what we just experienced. It was an amazing night for me; I did something I always wanted to, be there for the last Celtic Woman show and be among some of the best people I have ever met!!!
