I didn't want to post this earlier in order to keep it a surprise, but now I can finally show everyone pictures of the awards that the forums purchased for David Downes. Click on the small images for a larger version.
First is a plaque which David can hang proudly on his wall.
Second is the crystal piece which David can display anywhere. It is solid crystal and quite heavy. Because it is transparent it was difficult to photograph. I've included an overall picture as well as individual pictures of the inscription and the base.
Without David there would, of course, be no Celtic Woman and he certainly deserves and has earned this honor. Even though we weren't able to present them to David in person, I opened the boxes and displayed them for both Lisa and Lynn at the Red Rocks Meet & Greet. They were both very impressed and Lisa assured me that David would love them.
All of the members of each forum can be very proud of the quality of these awards. There were quite a few revisions to the wording on each until we got it just right. Once again, I would like to thank Jim Allen for the inspiration and for laying the groundwork for this project. Thanks, too, to all of you who donated to help defray the expense.
